"The Secret" Powers And You

I had a glimpse of this years before Rhonda Byrne decided to write the book. As a child my mother signed up for a Silva Mind Control course and shared most of it with me. Though I was very young, it definitely planted the seeds into my subconscious mind. Then after I read "The Secret"... I had a lot to think about.

I started remembering of how when I first bought my condo and all the walls, cabinets, and wood trim were all painted the most pathetic shade of yellow! I really loved the whole layout of the condo, and the most magnificent view of the lake, but the design was horrid. I mean the floors were an ugly, stained grey carpet, and also had gray tiles throughout the kitchen and foyer.

I knew nothing about remodeling, never even painted a wall before then. Even if I had those skills, where would I ever find the time or the money? I was barely making ends meet financially as a restaurant manager, and I could hardly find the time to keep up with my laundry! I really wanted to remodel, but it all seemed so hopeless.

I would come home after work feeling tired, and the yellow walls were so depressing to me, I would just lie down and close my eyes...this is when I was visualizing, only I didn't know it at the time. I would just imagine my home the way I wanted it to look, and picture myself moving about from room to room.

Friends started to come by and drop off gifts of paint, brushes, power tools, I even received a ladder. I had no idea of what to do with any of this stuff. I even complained of having no where to store these items. I started watching the Home and Garden channel religiously and would get a lot of good ideas. Then trading Spaces became my favorite show, (I still enjoy this58C one) and before I knew it I was hooked on home improvement!

Right before New Years, I was allowed a little extra time off from work. I was planning to go to a party, but when the day came, I had no desire to get dressed up or go anywhere. All I could think about was painting my walls. So that is what I did. I had all this paint, along with all the other supplies given to me by several friends and I just went to town so to say.

Suddenly, all the walls and ceilings were primed with a fresh coat of white. What a huge difference! Next thing I knew, I could not stop. I started applying glaze and other techniques I learned from watching my T.V. shows. Then it was new carpeting, wood floors, added a walk in closet, new furniture, rugs, accessories. I was a regular interior designer!

It seemed like in no time at all I was living in my dream home! I am still amazed how great it looks and that I did it mostly by myself. However, I now understand it was the power of the universal mind, law of attraction, whatever you want to call it, but and I am forever grateful.

It really seemed easy to use this power. You begin with thought, then really feel the emotion of what you will gain from it, visualize your desire exactly as you wish it to be, and take action. God and the Universe will take care of everything else! You need not worry, just believe and be willing to receive.
