Survive Or Really Alive?
How was your day today? Did it seem just like any other? Maybe you got up for work, came home, watched some TV (ok, I'm sure there were some meals in there too!) - and soon you'll be heading for bed, ready to do it all again tomorrow...
My question is, "How much did you really live today?"
Like it or not, a lot of us are coasting through life more unconsciously than we think. Just because we're physically awake and 'doing things' doesn't mean we're not effectively sleeping our lives away.
Michael Beckwith has said "It's a feeling world we live in." Ironically though, we'll often go to great lengths to avoid feeling anything at all. With our 'Protection Modes' set to high, it can seem we're trying so hard not to feel bad, that we sacrifice any real chance of feeling good. Consciously allowing your feelings to flow might well be the ticket to a richer existence.
One tip to start living more vibrantly is to perform a 'Feelings Check' on yourself (you can do this as many times during the day as you want). Ask yourself, "How do I feel right now?" And if the answer isn't ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS, it's time to remember that YOU are the one creating your feelings in every moment. And with that, you can choose to feel terrific anytime you desire.
Still, many people have given up on their deepest dreams. Whether we believe we're not good enough, or it's just not worth our effort anymore, it can be easier to slip back into semi-consciousness and just survive. It's as though we've silently suppressed all those whimsical hungers we had as children, in place of being 'reasonable'.
Laura Day in 'The Circle' describes our huA8Cngers as fuel. She says when we repress our hunger, we have entered into survival mode. And when this happens, we simply get by. The problem is, we also stop really living.
So I challenge you to choose one thing that's been on your 'backburner' - one thing you've been passionate about having, doing, or being - and bring it to the front once more. Notice the feelings that surface just by thinking of this dormant desire you've made real again. Then commit to doing something which will move you closer to its manifestation, even if it seems like a baby step.
Law of Attraction is all about thoughts and feelings. So when you consciously begin to nurture your desires, good feelings will start piling on top of each other - synchronicities will begin to appear, and soon you'll find yourself believing that what you want is possible. Your life will make the subtle (well, sometimes not so subtle!) shift from just surviving to a life filled with significance. And then, almost magically, heaven may no longer seem such a faraway place.
Until next time...
With love,
-Jeff
